HKS Oil Cooler
I have been slowly porting a spare exhaust manifold when I have time, now finished.
I will fit it whenever, no hurry just next time I do something Turbo or manifold related.
I took my car up to Garage GForce today to get the ALS mapping looked at, and while it was there I got them to put the HKS Oil Cooler kit I got recently. The Oil Cooler core is about double the size of the standard one!
On.
I still have some things to do with the ducting for the new Oil Cooler and want to clean it up a little so the bumper will be on and off a few times yet hence the brake ducts not put back on yet.
But the new Oil Cooler has increased the Oil Capacity but about 500mls, and I was surprised how much cooler it ran on the way home. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the hoses mount on the outside which puts it a lot closer to the bumper. Oh well, there is always a compromise.
I have never really had problems with the car getting that hot at the track, but I will be very interested to see the difference at the track next time. Anything to look after the engine :-)

SPOTTED. + Yearly service time!
Saw this fairly rare R33 Skyline GTR 4 door in suburban Tokyo recently. I haven't seen one for a long time, and this one was in very good condition.
Also spotted this WRC replica type Subaru WRX
I took my car to Ralliart Pit Inter Kawasaki for a full service, and the weather was great for a drive.
It had only done less than 5000 klms since the last service but there were quite a few Track days in there, so I got all fluids completely drained and replaced (except the AYC as it was completely done last time).
As always I asked them to look over the whole drive train for any signs of stress or problems, and it's been a year since they've seen it, but it was all fine.
The other thing I wanted to know was how much (if any) metal shavings came out with the oils, I was particularly interested in the gearbox as the syncros are getting a bit iffy at the Track now, although I am never hard on the drivetrain despite driving the car hard.
They said that there was a 'normal' amount, but very little for a car that is tracked so much, so that was a relief.
